Busted Tail Lights & Bootleg CD’S – Part 2 | The Real John McClane Busted Tail Lights & Bootleg CD’S – Part 2 – The Real John McClane

(CONTINUED)

Within 2 hours of telling my son of this foreboding that I had regarding the targeting of police officers, ‘it’ happened. You know the sordid details by now – in Dallas, Texas, in the midst of police patrolling people engaged in PEACEFUL, non-violent protests, a sniper from a vantage point above opened fire upon police officers, killing 5 and wounding 7 law enforcement personnel in the process. And, 2 civilians were also wounded by the same sniper’s gunfire.

The sniper, who was later killed by means of police robotics, was one Micah Xavier Johnson, who told police that he had been planning this assault ‘for a long time’ and that he was targeting police, WHITE police in particular. His motive, of course, was REVENGE for what he felt was the unanswered cry for justice pertaining to the multiple killings of black men by police. The 2 black men killed by police during the prior 2 days seemed to have serve as some sort of ‘point of no return’ for him. Apparently, HE SNAPPED. He set into motion the training he had engaged in months (and perhaps years) before this fateful Thursday evening.

Please don’t have any illusions about this: if there are no black men killed by police in Louisiana and Minnesota, on Tuesday and Wednesday, then police officers are NOT shot and killed in Dallas on Thursday night. To take it one step further – if the prior killings of Trayvon Martin and Tamir Rice had received a semblance of justice, would Micah Johnson have taken the measures to prepare for his commando assault in the first place?

Just as my heart and prayers went out to the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castiile, my heart and prayers go out to the families of these slain officers, who (the families) are paying a hellish and damnable price for a number of unjust, untenable social legacies that have continued virtually unabated for generations.

For one, the 5 officers slain paid the dearest price for the CODE OF SILENCE enjoined by police forces across the country- where a small percentage of police are allowed to fester like a malignant cancer upon the rest of the force and society, imposing their tainted will upon segments of entire communities…

This is not 1896. This is not 1956. What was tolerated under the racially totalitarian systems of those eras is not going to be tolerated in 2016. There has been too much freedom experienced by the ‘underclass’ to go back to any ‘samboized’ and ‘mammified’ era. AND, there has been too much bitterness and hatred pumped into the hearts of Gen X and Millennial blacks by the 24/7/365 infusion of hip-hop to revert to any semblance of subservience…

Yes, we ALL need to respect law enforcement – read Romans 13:1-7. BUT- if you want to keep the proverbial lid from ‘blowing off’ the inner cities (and the rest) of America, you’re going to have to deal with the human issues entrenched in some of those that are betraying the trust and authority that is entrusted to them – the police – whose duty it is to SERVE and PROTECT.

What some law enforcement officers need cannot be trained ‘into’ them by technique- it will take a ‘training’ of their HEART…

The question begs- How is it that mass murderers like Dylan Roof live to see a court date, and black men getting stopped for busted tail lights get ‘capped’ 4 or 5 times?

This is so much bigger than you and I… (a future blog)

There is so much more to this than what meets the eye… (a future blog)

Make no mistake about it, I have great relationships with a good number of law enforcement – of various ethnicities- and will continue to do so… I pray for their safety and the safety of their families – they have a tougher job than ever before…

I also pray for the safety of my son, son-in-law, and grandsons – any of whom may have to navigate an environmental tightrope that could lead to their fall and demise…

God, raise up men like MLK and RFK in 2016… men that will attempt to meet at the middle at the ‘Edmund Pettus bridge of racial conflict’ that spans the breadth of our land today- the footings of which are as deep as the foundation of this country…
