Pornography & Economic Impact (Example By Story) | The Real John McClane Pornography & Economic Impact (Example By Story) – The Real John McClane

2 Samuel 11:1 “In the spring, when the kings go forth to battle, David sent Joab with his servants and all Israel…But David remained in Jerusalem” (Amplified Version).

Perhaps David was starting to feel his age- perhaps he felt he deserved extra rest. After all, he had been ‘pushing it’ pretty hard for the last 25 years or so. He had slain a giant or two, slain a few thousand in the heart of battle (tens of thousands according to the ‘babes’), survived the jealousy and persecution of a king, married a few wives, sired a few children and consolidated his rule of the nation of Israel.

At a time when David should have been working (at war), he was “chilling” at the palace. DAVID WAS OUT OF POSITION. He arose from his couch in the evening, and went to the roof to survey the expanse of his beloved city, Jerusalem. As he scanned the grandeur of Zion, he beheld a ‘vision’ that SOONER, rather than later, caused him to lose HIS vision (he cast off restraint).

David beheld living, moving, breathing PORNOGRAPHY- when he observed BATHSHEBA bathing. His testosterone skyrocketed. The SAME testosterone that should’ve been activated on the battlefield (for our purposes, the workplace). Without being too graphic, which parts of her anatomy did he watch Bathsheba ‘bathe’ in rapist fashiion? He ALLOWED his eyes to remain FIXED on Bathsheba. In the moment of decision, he had the choice of LINGERING or LEAVING…HE LINGERED…

Not only did David linger, but he ‘acted’ out his pornographic fantasy, as he DID in real life what he saw in the theater of his mind…Oh, by the way, WHY was Bathsheba bathing at that particular time? Within CLEAR VIEW of the king’s rooftop? The Bible does not provide a shred of evidence for Bathsheba objecting to the advances of king David.

From the time that David slept with Bathsheba, his ascent/progress/expansion was halted. So it was for the nation of Israel. For the rest of David’s life, he was engaged in constant ‘damage control’, moving from one crisis to another. David ate the sour grapes of unbridled passion, and his children’s teeth were set on edge… THE INSIDIOUS & INIQUITOUS CYCLE BEGAN WITH HIS PORNOGRAPHY. For after David’s sin, the cycle of iniquity was unleashed upon his children – David sowed the wind, the children reaped the whirlwind…

I haven’t heard many sermons about one of David’s sons, Amnon, who was ‘schooled’ by a wicked cousin (Jonadab) in the ‘art’ of seduction (2 Samuel 13:3-5). Amnon was so consumed with a burning lust for his half-sister, Tamar, that he used his newfound ‘education’ from his cousin to entrap and force his half-sister to lie with him. After he robbed her of her virginity and dignity, he discarded her like so much ‘flotsam and jetsam’ (2 Samuel 13:15-18).

Absalom, her FULL brother, saw her weeping and surmised her sordid situation (2 Samuel 13:20). He waited TWO years before he consumated his plan of revenge – he murdered his half-brother Amnon. Absalom’s murder of Amnon resulted in estrangement between David and Absalom, culminating in Absalom’s treachery by attempting to wrest the kingdom from David.

Later on, Absalom’s brother by the same mother – Adonijah, exalted himself in an attempt to be king – attempting to usurp Solomon’s ascendancy to the throne. DOES ALL OF THIS SKULLDUGGERY AND INTRIGUE HAPPEN IF DAVID DOESN’T SEE BATHSHEBA?

Even though the Kingdom of Israel grew into its’ greatest political and economic prominence during Solomon’s reign, the seeds of political and economic deciline had been sewn 30-40 years prior, by his father, David. The Bible tells us that Solomon loved many strange women (1 Kings 11:1). David, Solomon’s daddy, had a ‘brood’ of wives and Solomon endowed with the same proclivity – and then some. In Solomon, this proclivitiy was multiplied manifold and twisted by the religious perversion of his many wives (1 Kings 11:2-8). WHAT WAS BIG IN DAVID GREW GIGANTIC IN SOLOMON – TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE NATION.

And the story continues, as the kingdom is divided during Rehoboam’s reign. This division was due to Rehoboam’s lack of wisdom (1 Kings 20). This lack of wisdom was predicated upon the inevitability of God’s prophetic word, as spoken by the Lord (1 Kings 11:9-13), because of Solomon’s prolonged middle-age ‘booty call’.

In hurried conclusion: IF DAVID IS IN THE PROPER PLACE, DAVID DOES NOT SEE BATHSHEBA, BATHSHEBA REMAINS URIAH’S WIFE, DAVID’S SONS DO NOT INHERIT DAVID’S PLAYBOY WAYS, HIS SONS INHERIT RIGHTEOUS WAYS, ISRAEL REMAINS ONE NATION, AND HISTORY IS REWRITTEN.
